Brighouse Old Boys 5 Ilkley Town 2
TOWN were made to pay for a dreadful start as they suffered their second-successive West Yorkshire League Premier Division away defeat.
Newly-promoted Town found themselves 2-0 down inside the first ten minutes and that left them with an uphill task.
To their credit, they hit back with a superb header from Matt Tollefson following a cross by Danny Henderson.
Ilkley were looking the better side and got on level terms in the 40th minute when James Mackie initiated a swift counter attack.
Mackie's pass found Adam Davey who created the opening for Iain Blackburn to score the best goal of the game.
Town's joy was short lived. They found themselves 3-2 down at the break and conceded two more goals in a poor second half.
