ROBBIE Matthews and Ella Shuttleworth of Ilkley Gym Club represented their club and county at a national competition held in Southampton.
The pair competed in the Yorkshire National Development Plan Championships back in March to qualify for a place at the esteemed inter-regional competition.
Over the past few months they have been working hard to prepare.
Robbie and Ella performed an impressive routine on the day and contributed to the Yorkshire team’s overall score.
The team finished third overall, and Robbie and Ella narrowly missed out on an individual podium position having competed against qualifying gymnasts from all over the country.
Coach Nicola Robinson said: “It was a brilliant weekend with a high standard of gymnasts competing from all across the UK. I’m extremely proud of Robbie and Ella’s performance. They represented the club fantastically and Ilkley even got a special mention.”
