THE most wounded of Lions is well on the mend and could be back soon.

But Guiseley's Danny Hall will not be rushed back after breaking his leg in a pre-season friendly at Throstle Nest. The match against neighbours Farsley was the final warm-up game before the new Vanarama Conference North season.

Lions boss Mark Bower feels that it will not be long before Hall, who joined from Celtic Nation last seaosn, is in contention to make his bow this campaign.

Bower said: “It is a gradual process for Danny but he is doing well and has responded to treatment.

“When he did it they said he was going to be out for three months but that timescale was always optimistic. I think he has done well and he will be doing some training in a couple of weeks.

“He will start off with a bit of light jogging and that will make him feel much better but there will still be a long way to go. It is always best not to rush these things and he has missed all of the season so far and it would be silly to set his progress back for the sake of a few more weeks.

“Danny will get his chance to make his mark for us because, even if it’s Christmas before he’s back playing, there will still be a lot of football left.

“It will be a big plus getting the likes of Danny and AJ (Alex Johnson) back. You really miss players of that quality and it will be a huge boost to the squad when they are back to full fitness.”
