GUISELEY manager Mark Bower isn't counting his chickens but wants to hang on to former Lion Josh Wilson beyond his one-month loan.

Wilson, who played at Nethermoor in 2012-13, has signed from Vanarama Conference high-fliers AFC Halifax Town in order to get some game-time, and has played in Guiseley's last two matches, in which they have secured four points.

Bower said: "Josh had options to join other clubs in Conference North, but chose us as he already knows a few of the lads from being here before.

"We will talk to Halifax Town a bit nearer the end of his loan but there are good early signs about his partnership with Adam Boyes, and both have scored one goal in our last two games."

Boyes netted in the 3-0 victory over Brackley Town last Saturday, while Wilson was on target in the 1-1 home draw against Colwyn Bay on Tuesday.

Wilson said of the match against the Welshmen: "We are disappointed not to get three points but fair play to Colwyn Bay.

They are a fit set of lads and pressed us high up the pitch."

He also talked about his equaliser, crediting his preference for being at the far post for corners.

Wilson said: "It is just being in the right place and I have seen strikers score ten to 15 goals a season standing at the back post from corners, and Ben Parker did well to get across his defender to create the chance."

Of his burgeoning partnership with Boyes, Wilson said: "Adam is a terrific player and you can see why he played at a high non-league level. He is great to play with and I know exactly what he is going to do."

As for returning to Nethermoor, Wilson said: "I am loving every moment. It is a great team and a great club with great support. "What the position will be after the end of the month's loan, I don't know."

Guiseley, who have taken seven points from three away matches but only the same number of points from five home matches, have another tough assignment at Hednesford Town on Saturday.

Bower said: "They are a big, strong physical side but also have some quality in the balls that they can play into our box."
