THE average price of a house in Ilkley is now an eye-watering £485,274.
According to Rightmove, families were prepared to stump up nearly half-a-million pounds for their dream property last year.
And even downsizing to a flat might not downsize your mortgage.
According to the website: "The majority of sales in Ilkley during the last year were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £445,335.
"Flats sold for an average of £267,895, with detached properties fetching £804,044."
Overall, sold prices in Ilkley over the last year were similar to the previous year and 12 per cent up on the 2017 peak of £434,772.
