THE charity Guide Dogs is calling on dog owners to take part in Dogs Unite and help raise money to create more life-changing guide dog partnerships.
The Dogs Unite event is a sponsored walk which takes place on Sunday, October 9 from 10am to 4pm at Bolton Abbey. The family-friendly day out is free to attend, and the charity is encouraging participants to raise £35 to support their cause.
As well as the sponsored dog walk there will be a demonstration from Guide Dogs, a sensory unit where you can experience what it is like to live with sight loss, a fun dog show, stalls and refreshments. Bolton Abbey are offering half price on parking to those who register for the event in advance on the charity’s website guidedogs.org.uk
Jo Stevens, community fundraising development officer for Guide Dogs, said: “We’re really excited about this great day out at such an iconic venue! It’s great to be able to turn the ordinary dog walk into something extraordinary, changing the lives of people with sight loss. So do come along and make your dog a fundraising hero for the day!”
