CAREERS available within the NHS were showcased at an event at Airedale Hospital.

Staff representing a range of roles – from doctors and dieticians to audiologists and accountants – were present to talk about their jobs and answer questions.

And members of universities, colleges and other NHS organisations also attended.

Visitors ranged from young people considering university courses to adults seeking a career change.

"We were delighted to be able to provide advice to people considering a career in the NHS – not only to aspiring doctors and nurses but covering all the many and varied roles," said Ian Hargreaves, assistant director at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

"The roles included some not immediately associated with health care, but which collectively make the NHS what is.

"We had a good turnout from the community and we hope the careers fair will become a regular event to inspire the next generation of NHS employees."
