THE programme for Ilkley Art Trail 2016 will be hitting the streets in a few days time.

This year the programme’s cover has been designed by two Bradford graphic design students. "It really has been rewarding working with the School of Art and their students and we are delighted the cover has worked so well," said Sarah Thomas, chairwoman of Ilkley Arts.

The Trail - Thursday October 6 to Sunday, October 0 - has expanded again this year with over 60 artists exhibiting in 25 venues around the town and with a greater number of fringe events happening.

Sarah added: "This year we have more exciting opportunities to sample new areas of art. We have contemporary dance performances, art workshops for adults and youngsters including some textile classes run by Bradford School of Art, a digital soundscape created on the bandstand on The Grove and an exciting exhibition staged at Ronnie Duncan’s barn gallery.

"One of the artists from last year, Filippa Dobson, is returning to continue her exploration of the way Ilkley Moor is continuing to be shaped by humans and the environment.

"We have been working even more closely with the Literature Festival this year and there will be a pop up poetry reading on Saturday 8th October in the Town Hall at 12 noon and 2pm exploring the art on display in the Town Hall which is a great addition.

"We have a lot to offer the town this year and we hope there will be something for everyone to enjoy and lift the town’s spirits."
