Ilkley’s charm isn’t just found in its many charity shops, cafés and carved rocks, but in its abundance of art and cultural offerings.

With its own Creative Quarter, located in and around Ilkley Manor House, the town enjoys the luxury of numerous art galleries, boutique shops selling gifts, cards and art supplies, an art school and a tranquil exhibition space located in a Grade I listed building, not to mention the many independent creatives all working within a five minute walk of each other.

This year’s Creative Quarter Extravaganza weekend, taking place on October 14-15, will be celebrating the artisans and businesses that bring so much of their own passion and imaginative spirit to the town. There will be two days of open access to the venues taking part, along with regular demonstrations and activities throughout the weekend.

Andreea Chitan, Events Lead for Ilkley Manor House said: “Ilkley’s Creative Quarter is home to so many talented and inspiring individuals and businesses. The extravaganza weekend will showcase this vibrancy and really highlight what Ilkley has to offer in terms of independent art and culture. It will be a great place to come and soak up the atmosphere and be a part of this lively, inspirational scene.”

Ilkley’s Creative Quarter Extravaganza will be taking place across various locations during the weekend of Saturday 14th October and Sunday 15th October between 10am and 4pm.

You can pick up a map showing the Creative Quarter’s venues and participants at Ilkley’s Visitor Information Centre or in local shops and cafés.

One of the venues will be Mrs Duttons Wondrous Workshops Ilkley who are hosting their second Inspiration! exhibition of textile art on Saturday and Sunday 14-15th October (10am-4pm). The two-day show brings together the work of textile artists from across Yorkshire. Entry is free.
